New York City won't get it
N.Y. Eliminated in Vote for 2012 OlympicsOh thank heaven. Most city residents whom I know don't want the Olympics coming. I work in Manhattan and also say, "Not here!"
Moscow dropped out first after receiving the fewest votes in the secret ballot of the International Olympic Committee. New York followed within a few minutes, and then Madrid.
The city is already too crowded and too littered, and half a million new visitors would make it a nightmare. Many businesses decided to close during the Republican National Convention because all the security made it all but impossible to function.
