Wait a minute, wait a minute!

I feel like Captain Kirk in "A Piece of the Action" (perhaps my favorite TOS episode). "Wait a minute, wait a MINUTE!"

The AP reports that an autopsy shows Nicola Calipari, the Italian agent who secured Giuliana Sgrena's release and was allegedly killed by U.S. soldiers' fire, had been "struck in the temple by a single round and died instantly." Uh huh.

Little Green Footballs notes that Sgrena claimed "300 to 400 rounds" were fired at her and Capilari. And Calipari just happened to die from a single bullet to his noggin? It sounds like the former Ukranian foreign minister who committed suicide by, err, shooting himself in the head, twice.

The AP story also reports,
Suddenly, she said, she remembered her captors' words, when they warned her "to be careful because the Americans don't want you to return."

Sgrena wrote that her captors warned her as she was about to be released not to signal her presence to anyone, because "the Americans might intervene."
Don't reveal yourself, because "the Americans might intervene"? Is anyone else's BS detector going off?

I must say, the plot thickens. Little Green Footballs and Jawa Report are doing a great job of covering the latest developments.

Pictures of the "real" car (not the false alarm) show...hardly any damage.
