Peter Jennings, 1938-2005
ABC News Anchor Peter Jennings Dies at 67I grew up watching him and Tom Brokaw every weekday evening. He was accused of "liberal bias" by some conservatives, but I personally never saw that like I did with some of his colleagues.
NEW YORK - Peter Jennings, the suave, Canadian-born broadcaster who delivered the news to Americans each night in five separate decades, died Sunday. He was 67. Jennings, who announced in April that he had lung cancer, died at his New York home, ABC News President David Westin said late Sunday.
May he rest in peace. Having lost my father to cancer, I know his family's profound sadness, which nonetheless has a simultaneous relief that his pain is finally over.

How about this for liberal bias?
Peter Jennings on 11/14/94:
“Imagine a nation full of uncontrolled two-year-old rage. The voters had a temper tantrum last week….Parenting and governing don’t have to be dirty words: the nation can’t be run by an angry two-year-old.”
That's...pretty bad. I had just never heard him say or do the things that his fellow liberal journalists are known for.
Apparently Jennings had a problem with accusations of "liberal media bias." That's too bad he was so immersed.
